Digital sports-media company Perform has acquired a package of rights in Italy for Lega Basket Serie A, the country’s top division of basketball.
The “betting package” rights will be exploited on Perform’s Watch&Bet live-streaming service. It is the first time that the Lega has offered a package of rights to a betting platform.
The rights will run for two seasons, from 2018-19 to 2019-20.
Last week, Perform acquired domestic rights for Serie A, the top tier of football in Italy, from 2018-19 to 2020-21. Perform’s OTT service, DAZN, will launch in Italy to provide a platform for the rights.
