Perform strikes deal to put Livesport on LG television sets

Digital media company Perform has agreed a deal for its Livesport.tv live sports streaming service to be available on electronics company LG’s Cinema 3D Smart internet-connected television sets.

Livesport.tv will be available in 3D through the sets in the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy, with viewers in each country offered coverage in the local language.

Perform said that the live sports coverage would be made available via “a number of flexible subscription options,” with video-on-demand options also available.

Oliver Slipper, Perform’s joint chief executive, said: “The growth and adoption of connected televisions means they are fast becoming the mainstay in living rooms around the world.”

Livesport.tv’s portfolio of sports programming includes European and South American football leagues, tennis, rugby union, rugby league, hockey, Aussie rules, squash, mixed martial arts, handball, snooker, darts and pool plus one-off events from sports including boxing.
