PGA Tour Live goes global

Golf’s PGA Tour has said its digital over-the-top subscription service, PGA Tour Live, will expand its service to cover the global market.

PGA Tour Live launched in July with the United States, Canada, Ireland, Australia and the UK serving as initial customer markets.

The Tour said that from the CareerBuilder Challenge tournament, which commences today (Thursday) in La Quinta, California, PGA Tour Live will offer a host of new features across its website and Apple devices, as well as expanding its device support for golf fans to Apple TV and supported Android smartphones and tablets. The app also extends its reach to a global audience of golf fans.

In addition to its exclusive live coverage of 31 tournaments during the 2015-16 Tour season, including the entire FedExCup Playoffs, PGA Tour Live will introduce new features such as integrated statistics, round replays, simulcasts of select weekend coverage from US network CBS and access to the library of PGA Tour video archives.

PGA Tour Live has been developed in partnership with MLB Advanced Media, Major League Baseball’s interactive media and internet company.
