PGA Tour teams up with MLBAM for digital subscription service

Golf’s PGA Tour has partnered with MLB Advanced Media, Major League Baseball’s interactive media and internet company, to launch a new digital over-the-top subscription service.

PGA Tour Live will feature exclusive live Thursday and Friday coverage of more than 30 PGA Tour events per season when it launches later this year.

PGA Tour Live coverage will precede afternoon coverage on pay-television channel the Golf Channel.

MLBAM has entered into a multi-year partnership with the PGA Tour to develop, produce and distribute PGA Tour Live in the US, Canada and selected key markets worldwide. Subscription pricing and supported digital platforms will be announced at a later date.

“PGA Tour Live is an important development for golf fans, as it will bring live action to the devices they use most, while building great momentum and viewership for the ensuing broadcast coverage each weekday afternoon and into the weekend,” Tim Finchem, commissioner of the PGA Tour, said.
