Italian state broadcaster Rai has agreed a four-year rights deal with the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) covering competitions leading up to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
The deal includes men’s and women’s championships held under the FIG banner, beginning with artistic gymnastics’ 2013 World Championships, which commence today in Antwerp, Belgium.
The Italian Gymnastics Federation said the deal has been made possible by “constant mediation activities” it has carried out between the FIG and Rai.
