RDA seals deals for Liverpool pre-season tour

The RDA agency has struck rights deals in several territories for coverage of English Premier League club Liverpool’s North American pre-season tour.

RDA is distributing live and delayed rights across television, internet and mobile platforms on a global basis through an agreement last month with Liverpool’s parent company, Fenway Sports Group. The deal excludes the Middle East and France, where Fenway has sold the rights to the Pitch International agency.

RDA has sold rights covering Liverpool’s games against Toronto FC (on July 21), Roma (July 25) and Tottenham Hotspur (July 28) to pay-television broadcaster ESPN in the US, Latin America and the UK. In Australia and New Zealand, ESPN will show the games against Roma and Tottenham only, with pay-television broadcaster Setanta showing the Toronto match in Australia.

Norwegian basic-tier and pay-television broadcaster TV2, Israeli pay-television sports broadcaster Charlton, Thai pay-television operator True Visions, Malaysian pay-television broadcaster Astro and Indostar, the Indonesian pay-television broadcaster, have also acquired rights for the matches.
