Red Bull Air Race lands new German rights partner

German sports broadcaster Sport1 has acquired rights to the Red Bull Air Race World Championship.

Sport1 will provide live streaming of this year’s ongoing series on Sport1.de, along with delayed coverage on pay-television channel Sport1 Plus. The broadcaster will also cover qualifying sessions, with viewers being able to choose between German and English-language commentary.

The deal has been agreed ahead of this weekend’s second round of the 2015 Red Bull Air Race season in Chiba, Japan. The series is comprised of eight rounds this season.

Servus TV, the commercial broadcaster owned by energy drinks brand Red Bull, previously broadcast the Air Race in Germany.
