SABC picks up Euro 2016 rights

South African public-service broadcaster the SABC has acquired rights for the Uefa Euro 2016 national football team tournament.

SABC will broadcast live coverage of 12 games during the competition, including two quarter-finals, one semi-final and the final.

Coverage will begin with the opening game of the tournament between host nation France and Romania on June 10.

The deal includes television and radio rights.

Euro 2016 will run until July 10.
