Saran Media, the Turkish rights agency, has renewed its deal for the exclusive rights in Turkey to the 2019 and 2020 Fifa Club World Cup tournaments.
The agency bought the rights from Dentsu, Fifa’s sales agent for the competition, and comes a day after deals were announced for rights in the Middle East and North Africa with Qatari broadcaster beIN, and with the UK’s public broadcaster, the BBC.
Saran will hold the exclusive rights to official match feeds, broadcaster footage and audio, and highlights of each match.
Qatar will host both upcoming competitions with matches taking place across three stadia set to be used in the 2022 football World Cup.
Al Sadd, the Qatari club, will be competing in the tournament alongside the champions of Europe (Liverpool), South America (Flamengo), the Concacaf region (C.F. Monterrey), Africa (ES Tunis), Oceania (Hienghene Sport) and Asia (Al Hilal).
Saran has routinely held the Club World Cup rights in Turkey and held them during the last two-year cycle.
Saran is understood to have sublicensed the rights to the recent Club World Cup tournaments on to pay-television broadcaster Tivibu, which exploited the rights on its Tivibu Spor channels.
