SBS set to dislodge NOS as Champions League rights-holder

Dutch commercial broadcaster SBS is set to acquire the next cycle of free-to-air rights for the Uefa Champions League in the Netherlands.

Public-service broadcaster NOS, the free-to-air rights-holder in the current cycle, said that the deal is likely to be signed off today (Monday).

The rights will run for three seasons, from 2015-16 to 2017-18.

The report added that budget cuts had forced NOS out of the running to renew its rights.
