Pay-television broadcaster Sky Deutschland has agreed a long-term extension of its rights deal in Germany and Austria with European Tour Productions, a joint venture of golf’s European Tour and the IMG agency.
Terms of the multi-year deal were not disclosed, but it includes the European Tour, the 2016 and 2018 editions of the Ryder Cup and the four tournaments of the World Golf Championships.
Also included under the wide-ranging partnership is the Asian Tour, Sunshine Tour and highlights rights for the European Seniors Tour and Challenge Tour.
In addition to the exclusive live broadcast rights via satellite and cable, the contract includes the exclusive internet, IPTV and mobile rights for Germany and Austria.
