Sky lands long-term Fifa rights deal in New Zealand

Pay-television broadcaster Sky Sport has sealed a rights deal in New Zealand for events operated by Fifa, football’s global governing body.

The eight-year deal, from 2015 to 2022, covers the 2018 and 2022 editions of the World Cup in Russia and Qatar, respectively.

The agreement includes all men’s and women’s Fifa U-17 and U-20 World Cups, as well as the Fifa Beach Soccer, Futsal, Confederations Cup and Women’s World Cups.

Sky is also showing this year’s U-20 World Cup in New Zealand, which starts on Saturday. The coverage will be shown live on the Sky Sport 3 channel.
