Sky NZ acquires Club World Cup rights

Pay-television broadcaster Sky New Zealand has acquired rights to this year’s Fifa Club World Cup tournament in a sublicensing agreement with the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC).

Sky will show live coverage of all matches involving New Zealand representative Auckland City, plus the final.

Auckland City will take on Japanese side Sanfrecce Hiroshima in a play-off for a quarter-final place on December 6. Should Auckland progress, their quarter-final would take place on December 9, with Egyptian club Al Ahly providing the opposition.

The 2012 Fifa Club World Cup takes place in Japan, from December 6-16.
