Sky renews Matchroom Sport boxing rights deal

UK pay-television broadcaster Sky has renewed a rights deal with Matchroom Sport for the management company’s stable of boxers.

The new deal will run for five years, from 2016-17 to 2020-21, in the UK and Ireland.

Sky said that it would show exclusive live coverage of up to 120 nights of boxing over the next six years, with its previous deal set to run until the summer of 2016.

The agreement includes “increased digital coverage” surrounding the events.

Matchroom Sport’s boxing stable includes British fighters such as Kell Brook, Luke Campbell, Anthony Crolla, James DeGale, Kevin Mitchell, Scott Quigg, Lee Selby and Anthony Joshua (pictured).
