Sky snaps up LPGA rights

UK pay-television broadcaster BSkyB has renewed an exclusive rights deal with the Ladies Professional Golf Association governing body.

The deal will start immediately and run for two years, until 2016.

The Sky Sports channels will broadcast live coverage of US women's tournaments the Kraft Nabisco Championship, LPGA Championship and the Evian Championship.

Sky Sports will also broadcast live coverage of at least four events from the LPGA Tour, the leading professional tour in women's golf. These tournaments include the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic, Kingsmill Championship, Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, CME Group Tour Championship, as well as the HSBC Women’s Champions tournament.

News and updates from other LPGA events will also be broadcast on the Sky Sports News pay-television channel.
