Sky to launch new channel for non-sports subscribers

UK pay-television broadcaster Sky will this summer launch a new sports channel, which will be made available to its non-sports subscribers at no extra cost.

Customers in the UK and Ireland with a basic Sky subscription will be able to access the new channel, entitled Sky Sports Mix.

Sky confirmed the channel would feature live action from football leagues such as the Spanish Liga and North America’s Major League Soccer, as well as Fifa World Cup qualifiers and a select number of English Premier League and Football League games. Golf from Europe and the US, as well as international cricket, will also be offered.

Sky Sports Mix will also broadcast women’s golf, cricket and netball. A selection of Sky’s various documentaries and sports entertainment shows will also be available on the channel.
