Snack Media completes acquisition of Givemesport; targets further growth

London-based digital sports media company Snack Media has announced that it has completed the acquisition of Givemesport, the biggest global sports publisher on Facebook, from its previous owner, Bragg Gaming Group.

Givemesport operates a network of Facebook pages covering football, Formula 1, tennis, golf, combat sports and esports, boasting a cumulative 25 million followers and 160 million unique monthly users across all platforms.

Snack Media claims that its combined businesses will now reach an audience of 210 million users, with Givemesport joining its existing portfolio of over 400 social media accounts and websites, including those operated on behalf of The NFL and Rugby Pass, among other high-profile rights-holders.

Niall Coen, chief executive of Snack Media, said: “When we started Snack Media 13 years ago, we wanted to become the best new media sports business in the UK and since then we have grown organically.

“We are extremely confident about the positive benefits that this acquisition can bring to new clients and the stakeholders in the Snack Media group. It marks a new and exciting phase for the business”

He added that the group was targeting further growth over the coming years, with the aim of becoming “one of the largest sports publishers in the world”.

The acquisition of Givemesport follows similar moves by Snack Media for Vital Football, the Football Content Awards and Streamfootball.tv.
