Sony Liv aces digital rights in India for Australian Open

The Sony Liv division of Sony Pictures Networks India has secured digital rights for the Australian Open grand slam tennis tournament.

The 2016 Australian Open began in Melbourne earlier today (Monday) and runs until January 31. Sony Liv will live stream the tournament on its website and mobile platforms for free.

Sony Liv will also stream highlights packages, interviews and press conferences throughout the fortnight-long tournament.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Sony holds exclusive television rights to the Australian Open under a five-year deal that runs across the 2015 to 2019 editions of the tournament.
