Sport TV regains F1 rights

Portuguese pay-television broadcaster Sport TV has sublicensed exclusive rights for the Formula One motor-racing world championship from international sports broadcaster Eurosport.

Eurosport dislodged the pay-television broadcaster as the F1 rights-holder in Portugal in 2016, but has opted to offload the rights after its 2Xtra channel closed at the end of February after just 10 months.

Eurosport also has rights to the 2018 F1 season, but the deal with Sport TV only covers the 2017 campaign.
