Sport TV snaps up Formula E rights

Portuguese pay-television broadcaster Sport TV has acquired media rights for the Formula E electric car-racing championship, which is operated by the FIA, motorsport’s global governing body.

Sport TV will show live coverage of every round of the inaugural 2014-15 championship.

Sport TV struck the deal with the MP & Silva agency.

The broadcaster will show a 60-minute highlights programme as well as live coverage of every race, qualifying and practice session.

The first round of the campaign took place in Beijing, China on September 13. The next round will be staged in Putrajaya, Malaysia on November 22.
