German sports broadcaster Sport1 has renewed a rights deal for the Red Bull Air Race World Championship in its home country, along with Austria and Switzerland.
The extension will run until the end of the 2017 series.
The Sport1 free-to-air and Sport1 Plus pay-television channels will show live coverage and highlights of the 10th season of the air sports championship.
Sport1’s coverage will begin with coverage of the Abu Dhabi edition of the race on February 11. Sport1 Plus will provide live coverage, with Sport1 showing highlights at 1.30pm the following Tuesday.
Sport1 Plus will show all races live, as well as a season preview and review programme.
Sport1 will broadcast selected races live, as well as regular highlights.
