Sport1 extends Euroleague rights deal

German commercial sports broadcaster Sport1 has signed a three-year extension to its rights deal with Euroleague Basketball, taking in the 2013-14 to 2015-16 seasons of the continental club competition.

Under the terms of the deal, selected regular season games of German teams Brose Baskets Bamberg and FC Bayern Munich will this season be broadcast live on free-to-air channel Sport1 on Thursday or Friday evenings.

All games featuring German participation will be shown live or with time delay on pay-television channel Sport1 Plus.

They will also be streamed live at Sport1.de, with free-to-air fixtures offered free of charge and all others available on a subscription basis.

Sport1 will also broadcast selected games from the Top 16 round, the playoffs and the complete Euroleague Final Four on its various platforms.

Sport1 has been the Euroleague’s German broadcast partner for the past three seasons.
