Sportel hails successful Monaco event

Organisers of sports media industry event Sportel this week thanked attendees and delegates who contributed to the 27th edition of their Monaco conference, which was held from October 24-27.

Sportel general manager Amparo Di Fede said 3,008 delegates from 1,034 companies, representing 80 countries, participated.

“It is overwhelming and we thank the community for their loyalty to Sportel,” she said. “Our team has worked hard on developing more business opportunities. One of the new aspects this year was the development of the Diaghilev venue that showcased exciting new marketing, sports and technology solutions. Content owners can’t ignore the new opportunities on offer, that give brands and broadcasters a real interaction with audiences.

“SportelMonaco has experienced a 22-per-cent increase in new companies exhibiting and visiting. Sportel today is an all-round sports marketing and media convention that provides a wide variety of serious business opportunities and connections for the industry.”

Laurent Puons, Sportel’s chief executive, thanked “event partners TV Sports Markets, LeSports, SVG, LaLiga, Electric GT, Facebook, Twitter, PPTV, the French Tennis Federation and the French Athletics Federation for their support creating valuable conference sessions, and of course deltatre for their great job on the 3rd Start-Up Competition”. He further thanked droitdusport.com and Football Legal for their collaboration on the new Sportel Law conference day on October 26.

“Also a very big thank you to the sponsors LaLiga, FEI and Arqiva who brought you the networking lounges; Automobile Club de Monaco for their ‘Pit Stop’ meeting rooms; and Telstra for their happy hour on Monday,” he said.

Puons added that he was “humbled by the growth the convention has every year, which clearly shows that our industry and community is strong and all our efforts are welcomed by you”.

He concluded: “Thank you again for your participation and we look forward to welcoming you all again next year at SportelMonaco 2017, on October 23-26, but first at SportelAmerica 2017, from March 14-16 in Miami.”
