SportsMax to expand NBA coverage under new deal

Caribbean pay-television broadcaster SportsMax has renewed and expanded a multi-year rights deal with the NBA North American basketball league.

Under the deal, SportsMax will offer an increased number of games, as well as live coverage of the NBA Conference Finals, to nearly 30 territories across the Caribbean.

SportsMax will show 112 regular-season games, up from 48 in the previous deal, and 53 post-season contests, up from eight.

SportsMax, which first linked up with the NBA in 2015, will also offer highlights programme NBA Action and classic games.

SportsMax will broadcast games on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays during the regular season.

In September 2014, telecommunications company Digicel acquired St Lucia-based International Media Content, the parent company of SportsMax.
