Swiss public-service broadcaster SRG SSR has acquired exclusive rights for the new Women’s Tennis Association Ladies Open Biel/Bienne tournament.
The rights deal will run for four years, from 2017 to 2020, and will cover television, online and radio platforms.
SRG SSR struck the deal with the tournament’s operator, the InfrontRingier agency.
The indoor competition will be staged in Switzerland for the first time from April 8-16 next year. Construction work on a new indoor arena is expected to be finished by February.
