Star Sports picks up rights for India friendly

Indian pay-television broadcaster Star Sports has acquired live rights for an upcoming international football friendly match between the national teams of India and Puerto Rico.

The deal for the September 3 clash in Mumbai was struck directly with the All India Football Federation.

Live coverage of India’s most recent friendly against Bhutan was only available via the federation’s website.

The AIFF currently does not have a broadcast rights partner for India national team games.
