State broadcaster snaps up Sri Lanka cricket series rights

Sri Lankan state broadcaster Rupavahini has acquired rights for the ongoing Sri Lanka v New Zealand national team cricket series in a sublicensing deal with the Sporty Solutionz agency.

The agreement comprises live coverage of two Tests, five one-day internationals and two Twenty20 matches.

The series started on December 10 and will run until January 10.

In January, Sporty Solutionz agreed a three-year deal with New Zealand Cricket to distribute rights covering its national team in various markets across the Indian subcontinent, through to the end of 2016-17.
