Supersport appointed host broadcaster of rugby Junior World Championship

Supersport, the sub-Saharan Africa pay-television broadcaster, has been appointed host broadcaster of this year’s rugby union Junior World Championship in South Africa.

Supersport will produce 30 live matches from the tournament for international broadcasters, more than double the number of matches produced live from the last edition of the tournament, held in Italy last year. The 2011 championship was shown by 19 broadcasters across 142 countries.

The Junior World Championship is a 12-team tournament for Under-20 national teams. This year’s championship is being organised by the International Rugby Board and the South African Rugby Union, and takes place on June 4-22.
