SuperSport to launch three new channels

Pay-television sports broadcaster SuperSport, which operates in sub-Saharan Africa, will launch three new television channels on July 23.

SuperSport 5HD will focus on motor sports, boxing, swimming and athletics, and will also act as an overflow channel.

SuperSport 6HD will show international football leagues such as the German Bundesliga, Spanish Liga and Italian Serie A.  The channel will complement existing football channels SS3HD and SS4HD, which show the English Premier League and South African Premier Soccer League respectively.

SuperSport 8 will also go live on July 23 and will cater for locally produced and sourced content such as the varsity athletics series and school sports.
