Team Marketing’s leadership departs in reshuffle

Three of the most senior executives at Team Marketing – Simon Thomas, David Tyler and Patrick Murphy – are to leave the agency, in a management restructure announced by parent company Highlight Communications.

Simon Thomas is currently the chief executive of the agency, David Tyler is managing director and general counsel, and Patrick Murphy is managing director of sales.

Highlight said that the changes were being made “in order to best serve the future requirements of Uefa [European football’s governing body] under the existing mandate for the marketing of the commercial rights for the Uefa Champions League, the Uefa Europa League and the Uefa Super Cup, initially for the seasons 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15.”

Highlight said that overall responsibility for the operating management of the company would, with immediate effect, be shared between the senior management group of Martin Wagner (delegate of the board of directors), Jamie Graham, Thomas Schmidt, Simon Crouch and Jan Werner. In further changes, Alex Wright becomes director of television and Kerstin Lutz director of marketing.

Team’s deal with Uefa to sell the global media and sponsorship rights for the Champions League and Europa League competitions is the agency’s key contract.
