Spanish-language sports broadcaster Telemundo Deportes has acquired rights in the US to the 2019 edition of the Copa América national team football tournament.
Telemundo will hold exclusive Spanish-language rights in the US to the event, which will run from June 14 to July 7 in Brazil.
Telemundo also holds rights to the Fifa World Cup until 2026 and is currently broadcasting this year’s tournament in Russia.
The US hosted the most recent edition of the Copa America in 2016, when Chile defeated Argentina in the final. Univision held Spanish-language rights in the US to the 2016 tournament.
