Ten Sports adds English Football League rights to portfolio

Asian pay-television broadcaster Ten Sports has acquired exclusive rights for the English Championship, the second tier of football in England, and the country’s League Cup knockout tournament.

Ten Sports, owned by pay-television operator Zee, agreed a three-year deal, from 2012-13 to 2014-15, with the MP & Silva agency for the rights in South Asia.

Under the deal, Ten Sports will show live coverage of 145 matches per season.

Ten Sports recently agreed a deal with MP & Silva for Ligue 1, the top division of French football, and the Coupe de la Ligue, the French league cup, for three years, from 2012-13 to 2014-15.
