Racecourse Media Group, the holding company responsible for a range of media and data rights involving a host of the UK’s top horse-racing destinations, has acquired the rights for events at racecourses in Leicester, Stratford-on-Avon and Taunton.
Leicester Racecourse joins RMG on May 1, with Stratford-on-Avon Racecourse and Taunton Racecourse to follow suit on July 1. The agreement takes RMG’s portfolio of racecourses to 37 of the 60 UK tracks.
The deal covers all audio-visual rights, with licensed betting office rights for the trio of racecourses forming part of RMG’s five-year agreement with Satellite Information Services, a provider of end-to-end products and services to the betting and broadcast industries, from April 1, 2018.
RMG’s pay-television broadcaster, Racing UK, will now broadcast 766 fixtures in 2017, which represents 51 per cent of the British Horse Racing Authority fixture list.
