TSN and RDS stay on the ice with Hockey Canada

Canadian pay-television sports broadcaster TSN and French-language sister network RDS have signed a new 10-year rights agreement, from 2014 to 2023, with Hockey Canada, the governing body of ice hockey in the country.

The broadcasters have acquired multi-platform rights to all Hockey Canada events, and will also show the International Ice Hockey Federation’s (IIHF) World Junior Championship in 2015 and 2017, with the events co-hosted by Toronto and Montreal.

Each year, TSN and RDS will show more than 30 games from major national championships and international events such as the IIHF World Championship, IIHF World Women’s Championship and IIHF World Under-18 Championship.

The domestic events covered by the agreement include the World Junior A Challenge, National Women’s Under-18 Championship, World Sledge Hockey Challenge, World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, TELUS Cup, Esso Cup, RBC Cup, Allan Cup, and the Order of Hockey in Canada.
