Belarusian public-service broadcaster TVR has acquired rights for tournaments operated by the Women’s Tennis Association, which operates the leading professional women’s tennis tour.
According to TVR, the broadcaster will show six upcoming tournaments between now and May.
The coverage will start with the WTA competition at Indian Wells, USA, which starts tomorrow (Wednesday) with Belarusian Victoria Azarenka hoping to defend her title.
TVR will also broadcast coverage of the 2013 WTA tournaments in Miami, Charleston, Stuttgart, Madrid and Rome.
The broadcaster will show at least one quarter-final and one semi-final match from each event as well as the final of each competition.
The rights will be exploited on the free-to-air Belarus 2 channel.
