Uefa’s official Euro 2012 mobile application has achieved over 4.5 million downloads globally, and been ranked as the most downloaded sports app in the UK, France, Italy and Spain on the Apple iTunes and Google Play app stores.
The app, developed by Uefa, European football’s governing body, in partnership with telecommunications company Orange, was also among the top five most downloaded sports apps in 70 other territories including the US.
The app offers video highlights of matches, as well as scores, team and player statistics, photos and news reports. It is available in 12 languages.
Another Uefa app – the Uefa.com app, which provides information on the Champions League and Europa League competitions as well as the Euro – for Apple and Android mobile devices has achieved over 4.7 million downloads.
