Univision, Televisa to debut global streaming service after completing $4.8bn merger deal

Grupo Televisa and Univision Holdings Inc, two of the biggest Spanish-language content producers and sports rightsholders in the Americas, have completed their blockbuster $4.8 billion (€4.27bn) merger deal to create a new company known as TelevisaUnivision.

In a deal first announced in April 2021, the joint venture is planning to develop what would be the biggest Spanish-language streaming platform in the world in the first half of 2022.
