WatchandWager renews digital rights deal with NYRA

The WatchandWager deposit wagering subsidiary of online betting firm Webis Holdings has renewed a simulcast wagering and video streaming deal with horseracing body the New York Racing Association.

Under the auto-renewable evergreen extension agreement, WatchandWager will continue to have access to live video streams of events at racetracks operated by NYRA. The deal also includes pari-mutuel wagering rights.

The contract has been approved by the New York Gaming Commission in time for this year’s Belmont Stakes horseracing event.

Taking place tomorrow (Saturday) at Belmont Park, the 147th edition of the race will feature American Pharoah’s (pictured) bid to become the first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed in 1978.

The news comes after the NBC Sports Group division of US media company NBCUniversal this week agreed a long-term extension with the NYRA for exclusive rights to the Belmont Stakes.

The NBC Sports Group extension includes multi-platform rights to the Belmont Stakes, Belmont Stakes Day, and key stakes races throughout each year. Events will be broadcast on NBC and NBCSN and will feature on NBC’s various digital platforms.
