Women’s Ashes Test to be live streamed

Cricket Australia has agreed a deal with financial services company Commonwealth Bank to provide a global live stream of a women’s Ashes Test for the first time.

The day-night Test between Australia and England, which begins tomorrow (Thursday) at the North Sydney Oval, will be available to stream in high definition via the Cricket Live platform on phone, tablet, desktop and Apple TV devices.

The global stream will also be available at cricket.com.au.

The stream will complement Australian television coverage of the series, which is being provided by commercial broadcaster Nine. UK rights-holder, pay-television broadcaster BT Sport, will also be streaming the game.

Cricket Australia executive general manager of broadcasting, digital media and commercial, Ben Amarfio, said: “A nine-camera production in full HD, with advanced graphics combined with innings break shows, makes this the most advanced production Cricket Australia has ever put together.

“Commonwealth Bank has been a great supporter of women’s cricket since 1999 and their investment in this year’s Women’s Ashes through initiatives such as the enhanced live stream is helping us to promote women’s cricket to more people than ever before.”

Commonwealth Bank is an existing partner of Cricket Australia.
