WWE denies report of February debut for WWE Network

The WWE wrestling organisation has denied a report that it has earmarked a date in February 2014 for the launch of WWE Network, a new 24-hour pay-television channel in the US.

“As discussed on WWE's last earnings call, we continue to aggressively pursue the launch of a WWE Network in 2014 via traditional and non-traditional distribution models; however no launch date has been confirmed,” the organisation said.

The PWInsider.com website published a report citing sources that said the new service would launch in the first quarter of 2014.

The website quoted one source as saying a target date for launch is February 24, the day after the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event.

Despite having confirmed the possibility of launching a WWE Network, the organisation is yet to confirm a potential launch date.
