Ziggo pounces for Champions League rights

Dutch pay-television broadcaster Ziggo has acquired rights for football’s Uefa Champions League.

The deal will run for three seasons, from 2018-19 to 2020-21.

Ziggo has acquired live rights for every game, as well as highlights of the tournament.

The deal also includes the Uefa Super Cup – the annual contest between the winners of the Champions League and Europa League.

Free-to-air Champions League rights – currently held by SBS and Talpa – will be put on the market in the Netherlands in the spring of 2018.
