Hungarian public-service broadcaster MTVA will pay more than €30m for Uefa national team rights over the 2022-23 to 2027-28 cycle, it can be revealed.

Hungarian public-service broadcaster MTVA has more than doubled its Formula 1 rights spending over the last six years, helping to enshrine the country’s place on the F1 calendar.

Uefa has secured increases for rights to its national team properties across Central and Eastern Europe, benefitting from strong competition across the continent.

Uefa has secured a modest increase for its club competition rights in Hungary thanks to its new deals with MTVA, AMC Networks and RTL.

Uefa has now completed its media-rights sales for its club competitions in Hungary after sealing new Europa League deals with pay-television broadcaster Digi Sport and media group AMC Networks
