Swedish media group Bonnier has significantly increased its investment in Sweden’s second-tier ice hockey league, the HockeyAllsvenskan, to prevent a tender process that might have allowed a rival to swoop.

Pay-television broadcaster C More has agreed a five-season extension with the HockeyAllsvenskan, Swedish ice hockey’s second-tier, for domestic rights to the league, running until 2025-26.

The Swedish second-tier ice hockey league, the HockeyAllsvenskan, will earn a decent increase in the value of its media rights in the next cycle, following a deal with C More last month.
