Big Ten Network and Comcast have finally settled a carriage dispute that had prevented West Coast customers from accessing the network on Xfinity for the first five weeks of the new college football season.

Oregon, UCLA, USC, and Washington have seen the start of their era as Big Ten Conference schools blacked out to Comcast customers in their home markets, as the latter’s Big Ten Network carriage row rumbled into the start of the new season.

The Big Ten Network, a joint venture between US college sport organisation the Big Ten Conference and the Fox Entertainment Group division of US media company 21st Century Fox, has agreed a distribution partnership with sports streaming specialist FloSports.

The Big Ten collegiate athletic conference has agreed a set of new domestic media-rights deals, increasing the value of the existing package by almost 300 per cent.

The Big Ten Conference has confirmed domestic rights deals with the CBS and Fox networks and sports broadcaster ESPN.
