Dailymotion bolsters sailing content with double deal

Video-sharing website Dailymotion has agreed new content deals with the Extreme Sailing Series and the Kieler Woche, Germany’s leading sailing event.

The agreement with the Extreme Sailing Series will commence on July 25 when Dailymotion will stream coverage of the fifth event of the 2013 season live from Porto, Portugal.

Kieler Woche runs from June 22-30 and is the final regatta of the seven events included in the fourth edition of the International Sailing Federation’s Sailing World Cup, the annual series for Olympic sailing.

Through a partnership with Real TV Group, Dailymotion will show a range of content from the race including sailing news, live regattas and behind-the-scenes footage.

Marc Eychenne, head of international content at Dailymotion, said: “The success of our partnership with Vendée Globe for their 2012-13 race, with more than 20 million views in the first month alone, showed the appetite for high quality sailing events. These new deals will continue to bring excellent live sporting content to our audience of over 112 million viewers and essential exposure to race organisers, helping them to grow their audiences and increase sponsorship opportunities.”
