Pan-regional sports broadcaster Eurosport has agreed a four-year deal to secure the exclusive rights in Russia to the Wimbledon tennis championships.
Eurosport reached the agreement with the UK grand slam’s operator, the All England Lawn Tennis Club. The contract will begin from this year’s tournament, which runs from June 27 to July 10, and will run through to the 2019 championships.
Eurosport will broadcast Wimbledon via its Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 television channels, while matches will also be provided via its live and on-demand digital service, Eurosport Player.
Pay-television broadcaster NTV Plus broadcast the 2015 Wimbledon championships in Russia.
