Australian pay-television broadcaster Fox Sports has forged a strategic partnership with athlete-generated media platform PlayersVoice.com.au.
The MediaWeek website said the deal will include integrations across Fox Sports’ portfolio of broadcast and digital products. Both companies will create and distribute premium content for fans, sportspeople and brands across all screens and devices.
PlayersVoice launched last year and its founding contributors include rugby union player Israel Folau, tennis star Nick Kyrgios (pictured), cricketer Pat Cummins, Aussie rules football player Luke Hodge, rugby league player Cameron Smith, footballer Mathew Ryan and surfer Sally Fitzgibbons.
Fox Sports chief operating officer Peter Campbell said: “PlayersVoice aims to create stronger ties between sportspeople and fans through unique storytelling, which is a great extension to the Fox Sports and Foxtel offering.”
