L’Equipe 21 snaps up Baku European Games rights

French digital-terrestrial television channel L’Equipe 21 has acquired rights for the Baku 2015 European Games multi-sport event.

L’Equipe 21 will provide a minimum of five hours of live coverage per day on television, online and mobile platforms, including the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as daily highlights every evening from the event in Azerbaijan.

L’Equipe 21 will also broadcast a one-off programme to mark 100 days to go until Baku 2015 and will feature a weekly report on athletes preparing for the European Games as part of the French National Olympic Committee’s magazine programme, Esprit Bleu, which is shown on the channel.

“We are very pleased that Baku 2015 and L’Equipe 21, our media partner since 2012, have signed this partnership that will allow our fans to follow live action from the first European Games,” French National Olympic Committee president Denis Masseglia said. “We will be sending a strong team to compete at Baku 2015 and it is good to know that their efforts and achievements will be available to watch live to their supporters in France.”
