Hungarian media services provider Antenna Hungária has launched MindiGO Sport, its first standalone OTT streaming service.
MindiGO Sport is designed to provide coverage of sporting events that do not receive television coverage in Hungary.
Antenna Hungaria’s director of broadcast and media services, Henrik Schneider, told the Digital TV Europe website that MindiGO Sport will complement the large European sports broadcasters like Eurosport, and domestic operators like public-service broadcaster MTVA, with a niche offering of locally relevant content.
Schneider said Antenna Hungária has acquired rights to domestic competitions for basketball and ice hockey, along with licensing 12 linear sports channels, including combat sports channel FightBox HD and Nautical Channel, a broadcaster dedicated to nautical sports.
However, MindiGO Sport is also intended to be used as a second-screen service, offering stats and additional content around sports events that are broadcast on television.
MindiGO Sport will be available to viewers in Hungary online and as an app for iOS and Android devices. It is priced at HUF1,490 (€5/$5.5) per month.
