The Professional Squash Association has announced that its online channel, SquashTV, will undergo a revamp in 2015.
From January of next year, all matches will be streamed in high definition via a new website that will be compatible on all devices. SquashTV, which shows more than 300 matches per year, will also offer new features such as multi-stream viewing, instant replays and live stats plus an updated archive.
“Since launching in 2010 SquashTV has been at the forefront of driving the improvement in squash broadcasting and instigated a host of transformations across the sport,” the association’s chief operating officer, Lee Beachill, said. “Moving to HD broadcast via a responsive website is something that we feel is essential to the ongoing success of SquashTV and with a host of other developments still being discussed we are very excited about the product that will be available in 2015.”
Beachill added: “We are committed to improving the service we offer wherever possible and feel confident that we can create what will be an industry leading on-line broadcast channel.” The service will stream live coverage of the US Open and Qatar PSA World Squash Championship before the switchover in the New Year.
